Biography

Anita Vitkoczi-Farkas is undoubtedly one of the outstanding flutists of her generation. Specialist journalists certify the young, multi-award-winning Hungarian "enormous virtuosity and sound diversity".

Anita Vitkoczi-Farkas was born into a family of musicians in Budapest and moved with her parents to Turkey as a child. There she studied at the Conservatory of Anadolu University and then at the Music Academy. In 2004 she moved to the flute class of Prof. János Bálint at the Detmold Academy of Music, where in 2008 she graduated with an artistic diploma. In 2012 she passed her concert exam with honors. In 2018 she completed a master class in chamber music with Prof. Gundhild Ott at the Folkwang Musikhochschule in Essen.

During her studies in Turkey, Farkas already won the 1st prize in the Anadolu University competition in the solo score. In 2008 she was awarded a second prize at the 4th International Flute Competition in Krakow (the first prize was not awarded), and a year later she was awarded the first prize of the DAAD Competition. Also in 2009, the German Richard Wagner Association honored her with a scholarship and in 2011 she was awarded the GWK Music Prize of the Society for the Promotion of Westphalian Cultural Work.

The flutist frequently performs as a soloist with international orchestras, ia. She has performed with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra (MCO), the Dortmund Philharmonic, the Münster Symphony Orchestra, the Budapest State Opera, the BM Duna Symphony Orchestra, Hungary, the Wroclaw Chamber Orchestra, Poland, the Bratislava Chamber Orchestra and the Prague Symphony Orchestra. She worked as a soloist and orchestral musician on numerous CD productions, radio and television recordings. Concerts have taken her through Germany, France, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, Chile, Peru and Taiwan.

She has been playing with the guitarist Juan Carlos Arancibia in the Arie Duo since 2008 and with the harpist Jasmin-Isabel Kühne in the duo Lumière. In autumn 2010, the Westdeutscher Rundfunk awarded the Arie Duo in its "Open Auditions". His first CD "Café", which the magazine of the Deutscher Zupfmusiker recommended as "absolutely worth listening to", was presented by the 2012 Arie Duo. In 2013, she won 3rd prize in the Gerhard Vogt Competition "Guitar Plus 1" and 2nd prize at the Leopold Bellan Chamber Music Competition in Paris. Jasmin-Isabel Kühne and Anita Farkas joined forces in 2013 to form Duo Lumière. Since then, the two have been performing in Germany.

Anita Vitkoczi-Farkas has been teaching in Germany for several years and has been a juror at the "Jugend musiziert" competition since 2013. She gives masterclasses at the Beigang International Music Festival in Taiwan, Chile and Peru. Since May 2018 she teaches at the music school Havixbeck early music education, brass classes, instrumental lessons and concertiert as a soloist and with her duo worldwide.

Four outstanding handmade headjoints are available: Forte, Vivo, Calore and Vivace.

These elegant and perfect handmade engravings are possible on the keys and lip-plate.

The 14K Maesta flute is optionally available with gold plating. This brings a warm and dark element in the sound.

The tone holes are available either drawn or soldered.

Pointed arms both increase the stability and enhance the quality of the mechanism.

The 14K Maesta flute has an optional split E-mechanism that allows for secure attacks and smooth slurs to the third octave E.

All models are available with in-line or off-set G key.

The C# trill key makes many trill fingerings easier and lets the high G#3 speak better. It also improves the intonation of both C#2 and C#3.

The One-Piece Core-Bar construction results in more playing comfort and less wear of the mechanism.

The G/A trill key makes the G3/A3 trill speak better (not possible in combination with the C# trill key).

The Pinless Mechanism ensures the stable connection of the mechanism and prevents it from corrosion.

The ergonomic D# roller simplifies movement of the right hand little finger.
